The open-carry activists who planned to stage a mock mass shooting on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin on Saturday have moved the protest off-campus, and insist the event will not be disruptive as finals take place.
The group’s Facebook page said they plan to meet with a university official to do a “walkthrough of location [sic].”
A campus spokesman said in a statement on Wednesday that the campus was open to demonstrations by university officials, students, faculty and staff only, so the protest would be considered trespassing.
A protest organizer told the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday afternoon that they preferred to be on campus, but “we’re still going to do it even if we have to stand on a sidewalk with UT in the background.”
One of the event’s organizers told the Times the event will include cardboard guns, fake blood, shooters, victims and “rescuers.” The organizer told the Times that the event has been in the works since before the massacre in San Bernardino, California.
Maybe I’m missing something…What is the purpose of this?
…for the OpenCarriers (now considered a virulent disease) can say on their FB pages “I went to collitch, see?”
That if everyone had a gun, then we hen mass shootings happen; no one is defenseless.
Now that theory is straight up garbage, but Americuh
They had to cancel their monthly circle-jerk when their moms got wind of it. Having a mock mass shooting was next on the list with slightly more votes than the Preparation H party.
I’m sorry, there’s a difference?
