Fox has picked up the Miss Universe pageant, which was previously co-owned by NBC Universal and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and plans to air it in December, Variety reported Wednesday.
Trump bought out NBC Universal after the two severed ties over comments Trump made about Mexican immigrants. Days after purchasing it, Trump sold the pageant to the talent agency and marketing firm WME-IMG.
“Miss Universe is a unique, global media property and this partnership with Fox marks a new era for The Miss Universe Organization as a whole,” said company executive Michael Antinoro, as quoted by Variety.
The 64th annual pageant is scheduled to be broadcasted from Las Vegas on Dec. 20 from 7 to 10 p.m. ET, according to Variety.
