Microsoft on Friday announced the launch of a new real time, online public opinion tracker for President Obama’s upcoming State of The Union address on February 12 (9 pm EST), the first of his second term. Called “Bing Pulse,” the feature allows users to vote online every five seconds during the course of the speech in favor of or against the President’s statements. The feature, along with a social media sentiment tracker called “Bing Beat,” will be accessible on Microsoft’s Bing Politics website here, beginning Saturday at 9 am EST.

Microsoft said in a press release it expects tremendous participation from Web users, enough to make the website the “largest interactive State of the Union experience in history.”
