Fox News host Megyn Kelly, no stranger to being on the receiving end of Republican Donald Trump’s insults, confronted national spokeswoman Katrina Pierson Monday night about the presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s use of the word “bimbo.”

Kelly pressed Pierson about Trump’s specific attacks on his women rivals, like mocking former rival Carly Fiorina for her appearance, as the race has intensified.

“Trump has criticized men, too, who have criticized him, this criticism isn’t reserved for women and I think that’s the difference,” Pierson responded.

“What about the word bimbo?” Kelly asked cooly.

After an awkward beat of silence, Pierson recovered and repeated the question back at Kelly.

“What about the word bimbo? It’s another thing, Mr. Trump has criticized women who have criticized him,” she said.

Kelly pressed on: “So that word is fine by you, you don’t see that word as sexist at all.”

“Well, even if it is sexist or not sexist, depending on how you perceive it, the point is, he doesn’t reserve sexism for women, that’s sexism, that’s misogyny,” Pierson replied.

Kelly diplomatically responded that Trump’s critics will say he reserves a particular tone for his attacks on women, but Pierson said history would show that isn’t the case and cited Trump’s plans for his daughter Ivanka to take over the company if he’s elected.

Trump has waged a long cold war with Kelly stemming from the first presidential debate last summer when she confronted him about his calling women “slobs” and “fat pigs.” In response, Trump has for months railed against Kelly and called her a “bimbo” on multiple occasions.
