Donald Trump’s campaign spokesman Katrina Pierson dismissed criticism of her candidate’s changing position during an appearance on “The Kelly File” on Thursday night, saying he was “speaking off the cuff.”
Kelly said Trump has said he “misspoke” in multiple instances, but Pierson said this would happen in a long campaign.
“I think if you’re a political candidate for eight months, you are speaking off the cuff. Mr. Trump, that’s actually one of his appeals,” Pierson said.
Pierson said Trump has many critics, even before the abortion comments.
“Was the question unfair?” Kelly asked.
“No, not at all,” Pierson said. “Mr. Trump answered the question. He just answered it after Chris Matthews said, ‘But for women?’ and he just said, ‘Yes.’ Because Mr. Trump was speaking about the legality. This was a hypothetical context of something happening that was illegal. Mr. Trump was just reinstating that if something’s illegal, yes, they should be punished. That’s why he clarified, for distinguishing the difference between the woman and the actual person committing the procedure that’s not legal.”
Pierson also brushed off Kelly’s questions about Trump’s high disapproval among women.

Which is why speaking off the cuff is a really bad idea for politicians; however, the GOP only have themselves to blame. After all, after 30 years or more of their never ending attacks on politicians and teleprompters, they’ve gotten their perfect candidate- a racist, misogynistic bigot who has no filter on his mouth.
Despite what the media says, at least Sanders has rehearsed what he is going to say even if what he says is honest.
I wish somebody would ask Katrina Pierson if Trump is willing to acknowledge that it was a tremendous lapse in judgment to hire Katrina Pierson. But then I wish for lots of things. : (
Good God, Katrina. Bring back the Hope Hicks.
Pierson is skilled at shoveling bull shit as fast as she can, but it’s still bull shit.
Katrina Pierson is hoping to be the Dana Perino of the Donnie Dimwit administration… everyone should have a dream and/or aspiration…
