Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) will join a handful of Republican leaders planning to address next week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
McConnell announced his planned appearance to reporters during a regularly scheduled Senate GOP leadership news conference on Tuesday, but offered no details on the topic of his speech.
Many congressional Republicans have bowed out of the Cleveland convention, citing close re-election races at home, distaste for Donald Trump and, most creatively, household chores that need attending to.
The party’s leaders are expected to appear at the event, however. This week, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) announced he’d give a speech at the convention and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was reported to be speaking as well.
Turtle-man to come out of shell?
Just to bring some added excitement to the process . . . .
That’ll be exciting television.
Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell, the hits just keep on coming. Think this is an attempt to make Trumper seem presidential?
I heard that one of the planks of the GOP platform is that porn is a public health crisis.
Yep. Porn.
With ALLLLLLL the problems besetting our nation, they’re fixated on porn as a public crisis.
Hope the Turtle et al. address those problems. On television.
And the bad news keeps rolling in for Trump… Guy can’t catch a break.
