Bevin, who has the backing of some tea party advocates, is a partner and adviser at the investment management firm Waycross Partners, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.
McConnell’s campaign manager, Jesse Benton, attacked Bevin as an “East Coast con man,” telling local media that “[w]hile it is sad to see someone who claims to be a Republican doing Barack Obama’s bidding, his campaign is nothing more than a nuisance. Mitch McConnell will never waiver in his fight for our Kentucky values.”
