Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) derided a move to reform the filibuster on judicial and executive nominees on Thursday as a “fake fight” concocted by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) to shift attention away from the plagued rollout of the Affordable Care Act.

“They cook up some fake fight over judges,” McConnell said on the Senate floor.

“He may as well said if you like the rules of the Senate, you can keep them!” he added, to a smattering of laughter from the Senate gallery.
