Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) supports the House GOP’s proposal to stave off a government shutdown as long as Obamacare is delayed for a year and the medical device tax is repealed — two provisions he has been in favor of.

“I don’t know why anyone would reject this bipartisan approach in favor of a shutdown,” a McConnell spokesman said Saturday.

Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) says the bill is a nonstarter in the Senate and that House Republicans would be shutting down the government if they don’t accept a “clean” continuing resolution.
