Arizonans love them some John McCain, the senator says.

A poll from Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling released last week found that just 30 percent of Arizonans approve of the Republican senator’s job performance, while 54 percent disapprove — making McCain the least popular senator in the country.

“You know, there’s a bogus poll out there,” he said Monday on Fox Business’ “Cavuto.” “But I can sense the people of my state. When I travel around, which I do constantly, they like me. I’m very grateful.”

McCain didn’t specify which poll he was referring to.

The Arizona Republican said that although he loved the experience of running for president, he doesn’t think another White House bid is a viable option. He is seriously considering running for reelection to his Senate again in 2016, however, and said he would make a decision on that next year.
