The Massachusetts Democratic Party has a new Web video out in the state’s Senate race, tying Republican Sen. Scott Brown to former Gov. Mitt Romney, the GOP’s likely presidential nominee.
Massachusetts is widely expected to vote Democratic for president in November, despite being Romney’s home state. For example, a Rasmussen poll from a month ago gave Obama a 55%-38% lead over Romney in the state. So in order for Brown to win in his race against former White House financial reform adviser Elizabeth Warren, he will need to sufficiently differentiate himself from the national Republican brand in order to get swing voters to split their tickets.
