The Evansville Courier & Press reports:
Over the 36 years he’s been in the U.S. Senate, how much time has Richard Lugar actually spent in Indiana? Nearly five years — a total of 1,805 days — according to his campaign.
He’s faced with a challenge in the May 8 Republican primary from state Treasurer Richard Mourdock, who has made the argument that Lugar is a “globe-trotter” who has lost touch with his home state a centerpiece of his campaign.
Lugar’s campaign counted the number of days Lugar spent in the state since he took office — not necessarily sunrise to sunset, but that he at least had his feet on the ground.
