Wilmore Tackles Paul Ryan’s ‘Family Time’ Hypocrisy (VIDEO)

“Nightly Show” host Larry Wilmore almost forgot his segment on Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) list of demands for House Speaker, which includes spending time with his young children.

Luckily, Wilmore’s director reminded him of the segment during Thursday’s show.

“Oh, I must have skipped a page in my script,” Wilmore said. “Oh, here we go: Paul Ryan is completely full of shit.”

And here’s why Wilmore said this: Ryan voted against providing family leave for federal workers in 2009.

“That’s not the only hypocrisy,” Wilmore said. “You can’t complain you don’t have enough time to spend with your kids while bragging about how much time you spend at the gym. The Speaker of the House doesn’t need to shred his delts and burn his gluts. You’re a dad. Be like the rest of America! Be content with your dadbod.”

In 2014, as chairman of the House Budget Committee, Ryan’s budget also eliminated child care subsidies among other programs.

“In his defense, that isn’t hypocrisy,” Wilmore said. “That’s just being consistent.”

  1. I keep repeating… the only Republican consistency is their hypocrisy…

  2. Republicans would be so much better people if they practiced what they preach. Maybe then they’d change their positions on things, too.

  3. The problem is, they do practice what they preach in a I’ve got mine f* you manner. And then blame those they f*ed.

  4. It’s good to be a person of privilege, Larry.

  5. I would rather call it assholery.
