House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) told reporters he thinks New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) is still a viable candidate for president in 2016 despite the scandal over lane closures on the George Washington Bridge that has ensnared him this week.

“I think so,” Boehner said.

Boehner was asked about the matter as the governor was giving a nationally televised press conference apologizing and saying he had no personal involvement in the mess.
