WATCH: Joe Scarborough Cuts To Commercial Because Trump Won’t Stop Talking

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough cut to commercial in the middle of a phone interview with Donald Trump on Monday morning when the Republican presidential candidate would not stop talking to let Scarborough ask a question.

“You’ve got to let us ask questions, you can’t just talk,” Scarborough told Trump.

“Joe, I’m not just talking,” Trump responded.

Scarborough quickly jumped in again and said, “You’re not going to keep talking. We will go to break if you keep talking. We’re going to ask you questions.”

“Go to break then, Joe,” Trump hit back. “All I’m doing is giving you the facts.”

The “Morning Joe” host then ordered producers to cut off the interview, repeatedly saying, “Go to break!”

MSNBC cut to a commercial break before returning to the rest of the interview with Trump about his new proposal to ban Muslim immigrants from the U.S.

Watch part of the interview posted online on Tuesday. Scarborough begins telling Trump to answer questions near the 1:25 mark.

Dear Reader,

When we asked recently what makes TPM different from other outlets, readers cited factors like honesty, curiosity, transparency, and our vibrant community. They also pointed to our ability to report on important stories and trends long before they are picked up by mainstream outlets; our ability to contextualize information within the arc of history; and our focus on the real-world consequences of the news.

Our unique approach to reporting and presenting the news, however, wouldn’t be possible without our readers’ support. That’s not just marketing speak, it’s true: our work would literally not be possible without readers deciding to become members. Not only does member support account for more than 80% of TPM’s revenue, our members have helped us build an engaged and informed community. Many of our best stories were born from reader tips and valuable member feedback.

We do what other news outlets can’t or won’t do because our members’ support gives us real independence.

If you enjoy reading TPM and value what we do, become a member today.
