Republican presidential candidate and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush took time out of his campaign event on Saturday to rant about his rival Donald Trump, CNN reported.
Bush and Trump publicly sparred during the GOP debate last week. Bush didn’t hold back criticizing the real estate mogul at his event in New Hampshire.
“Just one other thing — I gotta get this off my chest — Donald Trump is a jerk,” he said.
Bush’s remark came after an audience member asked how he would help people with disabilities if elected. Trump had previously mocked a reporter with a disability for which he refused to apologize.
Bush went on to say that “you cannot insult your way to the presidency,” according to CNN.
“I feel better now,” Bush said at the end of his rant, according to CNN. “I gave myself therapy there. Thank you for allowing me to do it.”
So having the government slut-shaming single mothers is OK, but mocking a man with a very visible physical disability is a step too far. Gotcha.
