Jeb Bush: ‘I Was Aggressive As I Always Am’ During The CNN Debate (VIDEO)

Republican presidential candidate and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush spent some time on Thursday morning trying to convince a Fox News anchor that he’s an “aggressive” and high-energy campaigner despite what Donald Trump says about him.

Trump has repeatedly called Bush a “low-energy” candidate during the campaign, an attack Bush tried to counter during Wednesday night’s debate on CNN.

At one point during the debate, Trump took notice and needled Bush.

“More energy tonight, I like that,” Trump said to laughter.

Later in the debate, Bush said if he became President he would want his Secret Service code name to be “Eveready” because “it’s very high energy,” a line that led Trump to put out his hand to slap a five.

During his interview Thursday morning on Fox News, Bush tried to explain that the “high energy” vibe was more than just an act.

“I was aggressive like I always am,” Bush told Fox anchor Bill Hemmer. “I’m a hard-working person on behalf of people. It’s not about me, it’s not about the big personalities on that stage last night. It’s about the people really struggling right now. I have a heart for them and I have energy for them and I’ll keep expressing that love of country and the belief that we can rise up again.”

He said he had not been working on the “Eveready” line.

“The ‘Eveready’ thing, I didn’t make that up,” Bush said, adding it was a nickname given to him by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement while he was governor. “They called me that for a reason. They called me that because I outworked them. That is just the nature of my being.”

“I’ve worked every day of my life. I’ve never taken a week off since I got married which was when I was 21 years old and 10 days,” Bush said. “This is just who I am and the notion that I’m somehow low energy is totally ridiculous.”

  1. Fuck Bush; he’s history. And while we’re on the subject of Carly Liarina:

STEPHANOPOULOS: Sure, well Sarah Kliff, actually, writing in Vox watched all 12 hours, and she concluded, ‘Either Fiorina hasn’t watched the Planned Parenthood videos or she is knowingly misrepresenting the footage. Because what she says happens in the Planned Parenthood videos simply does not exist.’

P.S. Apologies to all for changing the subject, but I get so pissed about the blatant lying of these people.

His performance was aggressive? That was him being aggressive? Really??

I’ll admit that one of his replies was some pretty aggressive word salad but other than that he was the most timid clown in the car.

But he does have all that money…

  3. Strong men don’t have to go around talking about how strong they are. They don’t go around yelling “beast mode”. Jeb is giving his impression of what his advisors have told him what a strong, decisive person looks like.

  4. I’m finding it increasingly difficult to find the energy to read anymore Jeb! articles.
