Republican presidential candidate and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush made the case in his first television ad, which was made public Tuesday, that he’s not a D.C. politician or a “self-promoter.”
Bush also boasted his record as a conservative in the TV ad.
Bush has been repeatedly attacked by GOP rival Donald Trump for being a “low energy” candidate. In the back and forth between the two, Bush had also issued videos that criticized Trump for liberal comments he had made.
“We have an important choice to make about the direction of our country,” Bush said in the TV ad. “If you want more D.C. politicians or more self-promoters, you’ve got options. I’m offering something different: leadership, ideas and a proven conservative record.”
The initial ad buy was $500,000 and the 30-second advertisement would run until Sept. 29 on broadcast television in Boston and Manchester, New Hampshire, and on statewide cable in New Hampshire, according to The New York Times.
The advertisement is scheduled to start running Wednesday, according to Politico.
“As governor, I cut taxes, cut spending, balanced budgets and Florida led the nation in job creation,” Bush continued in the ad. “Anybody can talk.”

Well, I agree. He did nothing to promote himself there.
Yawn.
Nothing to promote here.
Very low energy. Very low. I’m thinking minimum total potential energy. I’m thinking of a bowling ball at the bottom of a florida sinkhole low. I’m thinking quantum vacuum zero-point energy low. I’m thinking absolute zero, complete lack of molecular motion low. Why, Jeb!'s energy is so low, just looking at him would make your feet go to sleep.
Maybe some Redbull would help or just a double espresso. This boy is really verschlampt.
Totally agreed with you on that. I just don’t get why his campaign people don’t understand that the 2016 election isn’t going to be some replay election from before 1992.
Things/people/times have changed.
This isn’t going to be a situation where floating your administrative bona fides are gonna get you the nom. The GOP base doesn’t want a technocrat; they want an arrogant ignoramus whose willing to give them plenty of cover to be as racist as they want.
