Former President Bill Clinton said Monday that he hopes to see a female president in his lifetime.

“I hope we have a woman president in my lifetime, and I think it would be a good thing for the world as well as for America,” Clinton said at a financial conference in Beijing, according to the AFP

The 42nd president said he still isn’t sure if his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, will launch a White House bid in 2016.

“But I do not know if she’s going to run, and there is no such thing as a sure thing in politics,” he said.

Hillary Clinton has no shortage of support for her anticipated presidential run. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told an audience in Iowa earlier this month that the 2016 race is hers to lose and every female Democratic senator signed a letter last month urging her to run.
