A teenager died Sunday evening in Southern Illinois when he was accidentally shot by a friend, local station WFIE reported Monday.
Christian Marvel, 18, was fatally shot while he and his friend were in Marvel’s home. The friend was handling a semi-automatic handgun that he believed was not loaded, though it had one bullet in the chamber, according to police. Marvel was pronounced dead at the scene, WFIE reported.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
