House To Vote On New GOP Plan Just Before Shutdown

House Republicans intend to vote on their new proposal on Monday evening to avert a shutdown by attaching two anti-Obamacare provisions that are dead on arrival in the Senate.

The House is expected to vote at 6:15-6:30 pm ET on the “rule” to fast-track the bill to the floor, according to a GOP leadership aide. The vote on the actual bill is currently scheduled to occur around 8 pm.

It’s unclear if the bill has enough votes to pass.

Unless Congress reaches and passes a last-minute deal, a shutdown of many federal services is set to occur at midnight tonight, when the fiscal year ends.
