“House of Cards,” the Washington-based political drama that debuted earlier this year on Netflix, notched a total of nine Emmy nominations on Thursday.
The show was nominated for “best drama,” marking the first time an online series received a nomination for the top Emmy prize, according to the Associated Press. Stars of the series Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright also received best acting nominations.
