Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton responded with laughter on Tuesday when a man at an event in New Hampshire told her he’d like to “strangle” the only other woman in the race, Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina.
A brief video posted to YouTube on Tuesday showed the exchange.
The man in the audience at the Truman National Security Project event told Clinton he was an assistant engineer who was laid off by Fiorina when she was chief executive of Hewlett-Packard.
He went on to say: “Every time I see her on TV, I want to reach through and strangle her.”
Clinton laughed.
“I know that doesn’t sound very nice,” he continued.
“I wouldn’t mess with you,” Clinton said.
The man said that he knew Fiorina was lying because “her lips are moving.”
“Yeah, well, unfortunately, that’s the political season we’re in,” Clinton responded, in a clip of the exchange posted online.
The video doesn’t show Clinton’s full answer.
