Model Heidi Klum responded (again) to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s diss about her appearance by saying Tuesday on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” that she hopes the “best woman” will win in 2016.
Trump had told The New York Times, in an interview that included a discussion on how he talks about women, that “Heidi Klum. Sadly, she’s no longer a 10.”
Klum first responded with an Instagram video mocking Trump’s comment.
On Tuesday, she talked to Degeneres about the comment during an appearance on the comedian’s talk show.
“I was watching the election because, really, for the first time, I have to admit, it is quite fun, because of all the fighting and all the madness that is going on and all of a sudden my name comes up,” Klum said. “What do I have to do with any of this?”
Klum noted that German Chancellor Angela Merkel had been “doing very well.”
“All I have to say — may the best woman win,” Klum said.
Here’s Klum’s response:
Great. Now Rudy will want to jump in the race.
And that won’t be Carly
I have no idea what Trump was going on about anyway. Klum is a gorgeous woman physically.
How she keeps her figure eating all this popcorn is one of nature’s mysteries.
Actually, it’s a supremely revealing comment. A woman makes a comment about current affairs that punctures his molecularly thin ego and, of course, he responds by insulting her personal appearance rather than the content of her idea because that’s the only possible response for him.
Same thing he did with Fiorina. Same thing behind his creepy comments regarding the fuckability of his daughter. It’s automatic, it’s reflexive, it’s the only way of relating to women he can conceive of. It’s the MRA attitude in action–women are “slampieces,” bints, objects, not people. It is impossible to evaluate them, respond to them, interact with them, or comment upon them except in terms of their fuckworthiness. It’s their sole source of value and sole reason for existence.
