Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid has suffered injuries to his face and ribs while exercising in his home in Nevada, according to a statement from his office on Friday.

Reid was treated at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas overnight, and was first brought to St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson near his home by security detail on Thursday.

“A piece of equipment Senator Reid was using to exercise broke, causing him to fall and break a number of ribs and bones in his face,” a statement released by his office read. “Senator Reid will return to Washington this weekend and be in the office Tuesday as the Senate prepares to reconvene. His doctors expect a full recovery.”
