On Meet the Press Sunday, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. Tim Scott both said that if Romney wins the South Carolina primary on Saturday, sweeping the first three contests, then he should be the party’s nominee. Scott said this even while admitting that among the candidates, Romney least embodies the Tea Party.

Graham and Scott also agreed that it would be damaging for the party if the primary dragged on and attacks between the candidates got much worse than they are now.

Both declined to endorse a candidate.
