New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on Saturday power companies are making progress getting electricity turned back on following Superstorm Sandy but that 1.2 million customers throughout the state were still in the dark.

Christie said at a news conference in Little Ferry, N.J. the number had dropped from Friday’s mark of 1.4 million customers. “I will talk again today with the CEOs of the power companies to make sure they’re getting done what they need to get done,” he said.
