Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Tuesday that the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi and the Obama administration’s response to those attacks are “the most important issue in the election,” during an appearance on CNN.
“There is no answer to, ‘why didn’t the president supply security to that consulate when it was getting systemically bombarded for months?'” Giuliani said, though he said he didn’t think the issue would determine the election.
The former mayor also criticized Obama’s handling of superstorm Sandy, saying FEMA wasn’t providing support to New York City the way they did after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
