Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will take her world-class jabot-game from the Supreme Court bench to the Shakespearean stage this summer.

The 83-year-old liberal icon is expected make a cameo appearance in a Venice production of “The Merchant of Venice,” ABC News reported Monday. She will play the judge holding the trial of Shylock — the play’s main character — in a July performance honoring the 500th anniversary of the Jewish ghetto in Venice.

Ginsburg is no stranger to the theater world. Her love for the opera is well known, and is something she and the late Justice Antonin Scalia bonded over. A law student even wrote an opera called Scalia/Ginsburg about their relationship, which Ginsburg referenced in her statement mourning Scalia’s death.
