Fox News senior correspondent Geraldo Rivera dropped an f-bomb on-air and said “nobody can out-street me” on Thursday while defending his recent comments about hip-hop.

Rivera had called into the show “NewsOne Now,” hosted by Roland Martin on the cable channel TV One, to debate his recent claim that hip-hop had “done more damage to black and brown people than racism.” Rivera cited his experience growing up in New York City as proof that he knew what he was talking about.

“This is where my frustration comes — because I come from Avenue C, and nobody can out-street me,” Rivera said “I have seen it with my own eyes.”

Earlier in the conversation, Geraldo asked Martin: “Do you want your teenager to grow up to be like Tupac?” referring to the rap artist who was shot to death in 1996.

When Martin protested, Rivera quoted a line from the 1995 Junior M.A.F.I.A. song “Player’s Anthem,” which features the Notorious B.I.G.

“Take you to the church,” Rivera said, quoting the song, “rob the preacher for the offering, leave the fucker coughing —”

After Rivera’s f-bomb, the feed quickly cut to a silent logo screen for several seconds.

  1. Were you or were you not the guy who claimed to have found Al Capone’s vault and found nothing inside? Were you or were you not the guy who got kicked off of covering the Iraq invasion because you gave away the location of our troops?

    Rivera…you’re just a disgrace.

  2. Geraldo Rivera: not a wiggah, a proud street-wise jpriggah!

  3. Oh my, I think we have another case of Brian Williamsitis, here. By the time young Gerald was old enough to be out on the streets, he was living in West Babylon, on Long Island. About 90% white, half the high school grads go on to college, home ownership rate almost 80%, etc., etc. Yeah, real mean streets. Oy.

  4. Oh, and it’s nice to see Rivera recycling the same tired anti-music stances his parents had regarding Rock ‘n’ Roll, the NAZIS had about Jazz, etc, etc, etc.
