News Corporation will announce on Monday it has hired several people to leads its new compliance units in the wake of the company’s phone-hacking scandal in Britain, the Financial Times reports. A former senior official from the SEC and a former federal prosecutor are among the appointments. From the FT:
The approach aims to avoid a repeat of the phone-hacking affair, which was handled locally by executives at News International, News Corp’s UK subsidiary, before spiralling into a political and legal scandal that engulfed News Corp.
