Facebook reported revenue of $1.26 billion in the third quarter of 2012, an increase of 32 percent year-over-year and $33 million above Wall Street’s expectations, as All Things D noted.
Even better for the company, which has seen its shares fall by over 52 percent following its initial public offering in May in part due to concerns over Facebook’s stated challenges in monetizing and expanding to mobile devices, Facebook on Tuesday reported that mobile users now numbered 604 million, over half of the company’s total 1.01 billion users globally. Shares were up nearly 10 percent in after-hours trading on the news.
