Tony Blinken, who served as deputy secretary of state under President Obama, said Wednesday that the State Department was suffering from “PTRD — post traumatic Rex disorder,” referring to the tumultuous tenure of former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

We all suffer from it.
It will take a decade for State to recover, and another decade for the US to regain its reputation in the world.
I admire your optimism. I see no reason to expect a preeminent US presence to ever re-emerge in my lifetime.
