Economy Added 169,000 Jobs In August, Unemployment Rate Largely Unchanged

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday that the economy added 169,000 jobs in August, while the unemployment rate remained largely unchanged at 7.3 percent. A month ago, the BLS report showed the unemployment rate at 7.4 percent.
