Dylann Roof, the white, 21-year-old man suspected of gunning down nine people Wednesday night at a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina, was scheduled to appear in court Friday at 2 p.m. ET.

  1. I’m no expert in bond hearings…that’s for sure…but is it appropriate that a judge make an opening statement like he did, followed up by the family members of the victims? I thought that’s what takes place during the sentencing phase of a trial after a defendant has been convicted. Is there to be no trial then?

    I know the fucker did it…but I just don’t understand the procedure here.
