There was no SWAT team. No armored vehicle. No struggle.
Police released a dash cam video on Tuesday that showed the arrest of Dylann Roof, the 21-year-old white man suspected of killing nine people last week in a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina.
It turns out the arrest was pretty calm.
The video showed officers pulling over Roof on Thursday in Shelby, North Carolina—about 13 hours after the killings and some 250 miles north of Charleston.
Early in the video, two police officers could be seen approaching his car with handguns drawn, but they quickly put the weapons away. Less than two minutes later, Roof was being led away from the car with his hands behind his back.
Shelby police later bought Roof a meal from Burger King, according to the Charlotte Observer.
The next day, he was back in South Carolina to face nine murder charges and was ordered held without bond. He reportedly confessed to the killings and told authorities he wanted to start a race war.

If he was Black they would have shot him dead first then applied the hand cuffs.
At the very least they’d have thrown him to the ground like officer Casebolt did to the girl in the bikini. They didn’t yell at him, or force him to the ground. Hell, half the officers holstered their guns and turned their backs on the mass murderer. It’s shocking, frankly.
And then parked a taser next to the body.
Yes, it would have been a great idea to throw him to the ground and jeopardize the case against him. Ummm, no.
Officer Casebolt pretty much committed assault, and may face criminal charges, and the girl he body slammed will likely sue the city. So please tell me why it would have been a good idea for these cops to do the same thing? This kid, like most mass murderers, was a wimp who when confronted with other people with guns becomes totally submissive. That’s why Roof picked on mostly elderly and defenseless people, he knew he would not get any kind of resistance. Same with Lanza. Wimps. Cowards. Tough talk, but when confronted with someone who also has a gun…wimps.
Unreal, now people WANT the cops to act stupid and jeopardize the case because the perp was white. There’s a twist.
Well of course it was calm. Dylann Roof wasn’t so much rebelling against authority as he was ENFORCING it.
Okay, that’s hyperbole, but I think you know what I’m talking about.
