The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee on Thursday announced new hires for the 2014 election cycle. From the group’s release:
Matt Canter will serve as deputy executive director, serving as top communications advisor and helping manage message operations for all Democratic Senate campaigns. Canter served as DSCC communications director for the 2012 cycle, and previously served as communications director for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Senator Jeff Merkley, and Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle.
Justin Barasky will serve as national press secretary for the DSCC for the 2014 cycle. Barasky previously served as communications director for Senator Sherrod Brown’s successful reelection campaign in 2012, press secretary for Senator Harry Reid, then rapid response director for his 2010 reelection, and as aide to Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, Congressman Charlie Wilson, and Ohio State Supreme Court Justice Bill O’Neill.
Regan Page will serve as deputy press secretary. Page’s previous work experience includes the White House’s Broadcast Media Department, NBC’s Meet the Press, and GMMB.
Patrick McHugh will remain research director for the 2014 cycle. McHugh served as deputy research director and then research director of the DSCC during the 2012 cycle. Prior to his work at the DSCC, McHugh served as research director for Senator Richard Blumenthal in Connecticut and helped lead research operations for Senator Kay Hagan and the DNC.
Christie Roberts will return to the DSCC as deputy research director. Roberts spent last cycle as the research director for Senator Jon Tester’s successful reelection campaign in Montana. She worked at the DSCC as a research associate in 2010 and for Tom Allen’s Senate race in Maine during the 2008 cycle.
Angelique Cannon will remain national finance director for the DSCC. Prior to joining the DSCC team for the 2012 cycle, Cannon served as director of major gifts at EMILY’s List and as national finance director for Senator Mark Warner. Cannon has also worked at Third Way and on Senator Harry Reid and Senator Patty Murray’s re-election campaigns.
Jason Rosenbaum will remain digital director for the DSCC, overseeing the committee’s online strategy and advising U.S. Senate campaigns. Since 2009, Rosenbaum has more than tripled the DSCC’s digital fundraising efforts. Prior to working for the DSCC, Rosenbaum helped manage digital operations for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the American Association for Justice.
Jude Meche will serve at the chief technology officer for the DSCC. Meche has served as the IT director for the DSCC since 2005. Prior to the DSCC, Meche served as the technology site lead for Senator Barack Obama’s acceptance speech at Invesco Field for the 2008 Democratic National Convention, senior IT advisor for John Kerry’s Presidential Campaign and as IT director of Dick Gephardt’s 2004 Presidential Campaign. Meche has also worked two tours as the IT Director of the DCCC.
Karen Hancox will continue to serve as chief operating officer for the DSCC. Hancox has served as COO since the 2006 cycle and is a veteran of several national campaigns.
