The Democratic Senatorial Congressional Committee has placed its first ad buy in Arizona where Democrat Richard Carmona is running a close race against GOP Rep. Jeff Flake for the state’s open Senate seat.
The DSCC’s independent expenditure arm placed a $526,000 ad buy that will run a week from Oct. 2 – 8, according to a Democratic source who tracks ad buys.
Traditionally a red state, the Senate race has been competitive with Democrats putting up a strong candidate in Carmona and Flake having suffered through a difficult primary. The TPM PollTracker Average has Flake leading Carmona by four points.
