If Thursday afternoon’s phone interview was any indication, the women of ABC’s “The View” are not buying Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s talking point of “cherishing women” and being “well-informed” on women’s issues.
As moderator Whoopi Goldberg told the celebrity tycoon: “Baby, I swear to you. I swear to you, Donald, you’re misinformed here.”
Then one of her co-hosts, Joy Behar, took over, chastising the current GOP frontrunner for wanting to defund Planned Parenthood.
“I think since you’ve shown to have such a big heart for the Syrians, you might want to extend that to the women of this country,” Behar said, referencing Trump’s declaration on Tuesday night that the U.S. must let Syrian refugees into the country.
The segment featured multiple shots by Goldberg, Behar and fellow co-hosts Michelle Collins, Paula Faris and Raven-Symoné listening to Trump’s comments on fellow Republican candidate Carly Fiorina and Planned Parenthood with deadpan or incredulous expressions.
The hosts also didn’t let Trump get away with an almost throwaway comment about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He said Clinton should speak up more on women’s issues. Their quick rebuttal was, “Donald, she has her entire career.”
“The thing we want you to do as we go into the rest of this run is you gotta get a little bit more informed on what’s going on in women’s issues,” Goldberg said.

The image of Trump extending his big heart leaves me queasy.
Seriously, Whoopie? A term of endearment? I think I threw up in my mouth a little.
Anyone who thinks he gives a rat’s ass about women hasn’t been paying attention to him.
That’ll go over well, considering all there ugly personas or whatever
