Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Monday on Fox News that he feels “badly” for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who announced that he was dropping out of the GOP race Monday night.

Walker said that he was dropping out of the 2016 GOP race and urged other Republican candidates to do the same to stop Trump, the party’s current frontrunner.

Walker took a thinly veiled swipe at Trump, whose campaign slogan is “Make America Great Again.”

“These ideas will help us win the election next fall,” Walker said. “And more importantly — these ideas will make our country great again.”

After Walker’s announcement, Trump told Fox host Greta Van Susteren that he felt badly for him.

“Well, I feel badly for him. He’s a nice guy,” Trump said on Fox. “I got to know him a little bit — during as we say the trail — going out on the trail. And I think he is he a terrific guy and a nice guy. I think it’s been tough for him. He started off high and his poll numbers went, but he’ll do fine. And he is a good governor and he has got plenty to govern.”

Van Susteren asked Trump if he would ask Walker to endorse him.

“I don’t think so,” Trump replied. “I think he knows the different players. He’s probably got a deal. Don’t forget I’m very much of an outsider and I think it’s probably a little bit tough for him to do.”

  1. No he doesn’t.

    That’s just stupid and transparent.

  3. Bland pleasantries, which is what you’d expect. He would get nothing positive about gloating about his kill.

The real news here is that the reporters are running to Trump to ask what he things about the matter. Why do that? Because Trump is dictating the coverage, like he’s dictating the race. He has a member of the Bush family, rich and powerful assholes who are used to having their bottom assholes kissed, begging for his sloppy seconds. This is no mean feat.

  4. I can’t understand why Trump didn’t jump on getting Walker’s endorsement – after all, his 0% standing is UUUUUUUUUGE!

I’m sure he had to really hold himself back not to ridicule the question.
