According to a survey of cable news networks compiled by Poll Position, a new non-partisan internet polling site, a plurality of Americans prefer Fox News over both CNN and MSNBC. 36.1% of the 1,180 respondents picked the conservative network, while 27.8% chose CNN and only 16.6% preferred MSNBC. The remaining 19.5% of respondents had no opinion on the matter.

The numbers reinforce the widely held belief that conservatives prefer Fox News, with 61.9% of them choosing the network. Interestingly, a plurality of independents preferred Fox News as well.

Fox News was preferred by a plurality of viewers across all age groups with the notable exception of those aged 18-29. Just over 39% of the youngest respondents felt that CNN was ‘best’ compared to 19.8% percent choosing MSNBC and 16.7% choosing Fox News.
