He’s shaved his beard, hired a bandleader, and now he’s written his theme song — Stephen Colbert seems nearly ready for his reign at “The Late Show.”
The former host of “The Colbert Report” released a video from his new official CBS YouTube channel on Monday, revealing him at a keyboard working out the kinks in his new gig’s opening theme.

Stephen Colbert will go down in history as one of our best political satirists and humorists, but now he’s consigned himself to the mindless sphere of late-night talk shows featuring a parade of dimbulb entertainment figures, athetes, and other assorted vapid “celebrities.”
I’d rather organize my sock drawer.
Maybe he’ll surprise us… one can dream.
