CNN reported Thursday evening that GOP Sens. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Jeff Flake — all key votes Republicans will need to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court — were meeting with Sen. Joe Manchin after a marathon hearing featuring Christine Blasey Ford and Kavanaugh.

Oh to be a fly on that wall…
This is either really good or really bad. Other than that I am exhausted after this day. I think the whole country is. I am so tired of the division. Can’t we come together on certain basic things like conducting a thorough investigation on whether or not the man we are considering putting on the nation’s highest court is a sexual predator? Can’t we give these woman the benefit of the doubt? An FBI investigation would do that. After that I would be more than willing to accept the verdict, even if it wasn’t the one I want.
Unfortunately, my guess is that the three Republicans are telling Manchin it’s a done deal and asking for some bipartisan cover.
What does this mean for those of us cowering under the covers … ?
Take a look at the voting record of those four senators. I am sorry, I just give up.
