Both CNN and ABC News have ended their contracts with Donna Brazile now that she plans to take over as interim chair of the Democratic National Committee when Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz steps down from the role after the convention, Politico reported Sunday.

Brazile was a contributor for both networks while serving as the DNC’s vice chair for civic engagement and voter participation.

“With news of Donna Brazile stepping in as interim chair for the Democratic National Committee, CNN and Brazile have mutually agreed to temporarily suspend her contract as a contributor for the network effective immediately. As a valued voice and commentator, CNN will revisit the contract once Brazile concludes her role,” CNN told Politico in a statement.

Brazile will still appear on CNN this week but will not be paid for those appearances, according to Politico.
