The Hillary Clinton campaign cancelled a Wednesday event in Iowa with Bill Clinton and vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine in light of the news that two police officers in the state were shot to death overnight.

“Due to the tragic shooting of Des Moines and Urbandale police officers last night, the Des Moines Get Out the Vote event with Tim Kaine, President Bill Clinton, and Ben Harper at the Des Moines Social Club has been canceled,” the campaign said in an email.

Police in Iowa say that two officers were shot and killed early Wednesday morning while they were sitting in a patrol cars.
