Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Wednesday that before news of the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, the State Department was closely watching the situation at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, which Egyptian protesters were attempting to storm. Clinton said she was at the State Department all day and late into the evening on Sept. 11, 2012.
