Now the candidates themselves are weighing in on the Christie chatter, according to another article in The Hill.
Perry told the AP that he’d welcome anyone into the race who believes in small, efficient government. “It just strengthens the point that the Republican Party’s all about getting our country working again,” the Texan said. “Chris Christie is a great competitor—and I’ll be up there, you know, in Jersey, looking for some businesses to move to Texas.”
Rep. Ron Paul spoke at a campaign rally in Trenton, NJ and said that although he had no personal opinion of the state’s governor, he would welcome him into the race because he would take convention delegates away from his opponents.
