President Obama and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie spoke to residents of Brigantine, New Jersey Wednesday at the Brigantine Beach Community Center, which is serving as a shelter for local residents in the wake of superstorm Sandy, according to a White House pool report.
“I want to let you know that your governor is working overtime” to repair damages in the state, Obama said. “The entire country has been watching what’s been happening. Everybody knows how hard Jersey has been hit.”
Christie said that “it’s really important to have the president of the United States here.”
