CNN on Thursday night announced the lineup for the upcoming Republican presidential debate, cementing Carly Fiorina’s spot in the prime-time debate.
Following criticism over its rules for inclusion in the main debate, CNN announced earlier in September that those candidates who saw a surge in the polls after the first debate have a shot at making the main stage.
The main debate at 8 p.m. ET will include 11 candidates: Donald Trump, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), Dr. Ben Carson, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R), New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), and Carly Fiorina.
CNN will hold a debate at 6 p.m. ET for the candidates polling in the second tier. It will include former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), former New York Gov. George Pataki (R), and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
