According to reports, the U.S. Capitol is on lockdown due to “police activity.”

The lockdown began around 8:55 a.m. ET. Capitol Police did not immediately return a request for comment.
According to an e-mail sent from Capitol Police, however, individuals inside the U.S. Capitol were advised to lock all doors and stay away from windows.
